How does the 101 pre-order goal work?
A band is C$9.99, charged only if we hit 101. A campaign pre-order saves your card with Stripe and charges $0 today. If 101 pre-orders are made we charge your card the full price shown; if they aren't, you're never charged and we delete the card. Pre-orders close October 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET or the moment we hit 101, whichever comes first (the goal counts pre-orders, not people or bands). The counter on this site shows the real number; we never pad it.
When am I charged?
If we hit 101 pre-orders by October 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET, your card is charged C$9.99; if we don't, you're never charged. This is not a free sign-up. If we hit the goal by October 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (or sooner), the amount shown when you pre-ordered — bands plus any shipping — is charged to the card you saved, once, within 2 days of the close, and Stripe emails you a receipt. Nothing is charged before that. Price-drop guarantee: we charge the amount shown when you pre-ordered, never more. If our price for the same bands (and shipping) is lower on the day we charge, we charge the lower price instead.
Do I need to confirm again when you hit the goal?
No. Ticking the box at checkout is your OK for that one charge, so once we hit 101 your card is charged without asking again. We'll email you before we charge, with the amount and the date, so you can still cancel for free. If your bank asks for verification or your card fails, we email you a secure pay link; if it isn't paid within 7 days, your pre-order is cancelled and nothing is owed.
What if you don't hit 101?
Then we don't make it and you're never charged. We delete the saved cards from our Stripe account and email everyone who pre-ordered.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Before we charge you: cancel free anytime, nothing is charged. After we charge you: cancel within 3 days of the charge and we refund everything (shipping included) within 15 days of your request. After that the order is final, because we order your band's parts. Exceptions, always: if we're late shipping, you can cancel for a full refund; defective, lost or never delivered: we replace it or refund you in full; we may cancel any pre-order before it ships, with a full refund. To cancel, email support@larp2alt.com from the email address you ordered or pre-ordered with.
When does it ship?
About 6 weeks after we hit 101. The promise we make: your band ships within 7 weeks after your card is charged, and we charge within 2 days of the close. If we hit 101 early, the campaign closes that day and everything starts sooner. It arrives within about 8 business days after it ships, so at the latest 7 weeks and 8 business days after your card is charged. We email you the day it ships. If we can't ship by the promised date, we email you before it with a new date, and you can cancel for a full refund. If the new date is no more than 30 days later, you keep your order unless you cancel. If it's more than 30 days later, if we can't give a firm new date, or if we miss the new date too, we cancel and refund you in full unless you tell us you want to keep waiting.
Can you cancel my order?
We may cancel any pre-order at any time before it ships, for any reason (for example if we can't produce it). If we do, you get a full refund (or, if we haven't charged you yet, you're simply never charged), and we owe nothing beyond that refund. We'd email you to say so.
What is the Founders Edition?
Our first run is hand-assembled by us: a store-bought silicone NFC wristband whose built-in chip sits under the raised face on the outside of your wrist (your LARP side), plus a second NTAG213 chip sealed on the inside of the band's bottom, against your wrist, so it isn't visible from outside (your ALT side). You tell the sides apart by where they sit and how they feel, not by any lettering: the only thing printed on the band is the LARP2ALT logo along the side of the strap. We write and lock both chips to your band's links and test each side before it ships. It's not the factory-moulded design we plan for a later edition, and it looks a little different from the illustrations. Splash-resistant (rain, sweat, hand-washing), not for swimming. Works with most NFC phones (recent iPhones and most NFC Android phones), no app. Size: Adjustable · fits most wrists.
Does it work with iPhone and Android?
It works with most NFC phones, no app. On an iPhone, hold the top of the back, near the camera to the band, not the screen. On an NFC Android phone, hold the middle of the back to it, with NFC switched on (it usually is). Hold still for a second. Thick cases and some older phones read less reliably. For phones without NFC, the QR pocket card in the box opens your Larp side.
What goes on Larp, and what goes on Alt?
Larp is the chip under the raised face on the outside: the persona you play, with the socials you don’t mind anyone seeing (Instagram, TikTok, Discord). Alt is the second chip, sealed on the inside of the band’s bottom (you won’t see it from outside; flip your wrist and tap there): the real you, with your phone, email and WhatsApp, for people you actually trust. That’s just where links start. Put any link on Larp, Alt or both, and change it anytime in your dashboard.
Does the person tapping need an app?
No. A tap opens your page in their normal browser, where one button saves your contact to their phone. See exactly what they see in the demo tap page.
Can I change my links, or switch it off if I lose it?
Yes to both. The chip only stores a link to your page, never your details, so edits in your dashboard are live the moment you save. Lose the band and you can disable it from your dashboard; it stops sharing immediately, and your profile is waiting when you activate a new one.
What do you do with my data?
When someone taps you, you see the time and an approximate city, never their exact location or who they are. Tappers only share their details if they choose to send theirs back. We never sell data. The details are in our privacy policy.
Does it need charging? Can it get wet?
No battery and nothing to charge: the chips are powered by the phone that taps them. It's splash-resistant: rain, sweat and washing your hands are fine. It's not for swimming, so take it off for pools, hot tubs and saunas.
How does shipping work?

Canada (except Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, for now): Ships only after a funded campaign, from Ontario. Campaign pre-orders ship free by Canada Post Lettermail (3–8 business days, no tracking). Orders of 3+ bands ship tracked for free. We can't take orders or pre-orders for delivery in Quebec, Manitoba or Saskatchewan yet. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when we can.

United States: not yet. We’re launching in Canada first. Tell us you’re interested (under the prices) and we’ll email you once when we ship to the US.

Lost parcels: Lost in the mail? Email us within 30 days of shipping. Untracked orders get one free replacement, and we deactivate the original band so no one else can use it. Tracked orders follow the carrier's tracking. Every band records when it's activated, so we can confirm delivery.
